I have always lost because of Kalonzo, would not repeat, says Ngilu

Former Cabinet Secretary Charity Ngilu has said that she has always lost elections because of opposing Nasa co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka.

Speaking at an occasion where Kamba leaders came together to back the Wiper leader and Nasa presidential race hopeful, Ngilu said she had come to learn this the hard way and was not going to repeat the 'mistake' this time.

"I opposed him in 2007 and lost and again in 2013. This is not going to happen again,” she said.

She apologised to the community and said that in 2013 she cost Cord their deserved presidency by campaigning for the Jubilee coalition.

Also present at the function was Makueni governor Kivutha Kibwana who echoed Ngilu's sentiments, saying that Musyoka is the best candidate to fly the Nasa flag.
"Ask us to even go and talk to the other Co-principals so we can tell them this, because you are the one to save Kenya," he said.

In the 2013 general elections, Ngilu stood with the UhuRuto coalition and went ahead to be named in the first cabinet of the Jubilee government to head the Lands Ministry.

She was however forced to step down after there emerged land ownership scandals and her relationship with Jubilee has since gone south.
