Teachers union, Knut, rules out supporting any political party ahead of august polls

Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) has declared that it will not support any political party during the upcoming General Election.

KNUT National Treasurer, John Matiang’i, said the union will support individual personalities.

“In Nyamira, my governor is John Nyagarama who is in ODM, I will support him as Nyagarama and my MP is Ben Momanyi of Wiper, and I will support them as individuals not as parties,” said Matiang’i.

KNUT Secretary General, Wilson Sossion, echoed the sentiments saying that they support individual leaders, not political parties.

Matiang'i was speaking in Nakuru on Friday during a prize giving day at a local school.
