Tension is high in Nalaputui-Oropoi division of Turkana West Sub County as one person has been killed by a freely roaming elephant.
It has been reported that the deceased was fetching firewood in the seemingly unmanned vast part of Kenya when the incident happened.
It is not clear whether the KWS has responded to this sad situation.
It is also said that this is not the first time this incident is happening.
Turkana County is known for being insecure particularly the remote areas.
In the past, a Catholic priest stationed in Kalobeyei was murdered in Nawaontos in Turkana West County. It is said the priest was heading for mass.
