Just hours after being summoned by CID, Uasin Gishu County Governor Jackson Mandago has come out saying he did not make any tribal remarks in regards to the Moi University Vice Chancellor appointment.
Speaking outside the Directorate of Criminal Investigations(DCI) in Nairobi Governor Mandago said North Rift Leaders are not tribalist as they have been perceived.
He said:
“We are not tribalist as it has been reported by some sections of the media.”
The Governor vehemently cautioned the media against sensational reporting on the matter that it may provoke violence. He further reiterated that leaders fron North Rift are peace loving.
To moi university this is what he said:
“We want to ask those responsible with the appointment at the institution to ensure merit is strictly adhered to.”
