Plans to refurbish the Turkwel state lodge Is in the offing.
When he toured the facility, the governor Simon Kachapin said his government will partner with Kerio Valley Development Authority (K.V.D.A) to make sure the facility is operational.
The governor reiterated that that facility is very important for the economy of the county as it is a tourist attraction site.
This is what he said:
“We will partner with KVDA in the rehabilitation of the lodge to a tourist lodge to attract tourist. This place is a good scenario to the visitors."
“The lodge is near the Turkwel dam which is an attractive site and bringing it back to life will not only attract tourists but create employment for locals."
