How can I stop itching during pregnancy?

Itching in pregnancy is very common and is usually due to a fungus

 

Dear doctor: I am seven months into my pregnancy. However, my private parts itch. I keep taking Fulcin but it does not improve. What drug can I use?

Dear Patient: Itching in pregnancy is very common and is usually due to a fungus (Candida Albicans). Candida may resist treatment or reoccur in pregnancy. However after delivery, the problem may not recur.

Using Fulcin for Candida may not help since it is more effective for ringworm. Fulcin, like any other drug, should not be given anyhow in pregnancy. Please contact your antenatal clinic for a better prescription.
