Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are splitting | They want quickie divorce - and are already mid-way through custody negotiations

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are keen for a speedy divorce following shock news they have split up, it has been claimed.

The couple announced they had broken up earlier this month, both releasing statements expressing their sorrow, but insisting their children are their priority.

According to TMZ , the couple began custody negotiations almost straight away, but Brad allegedly halted things when claims emerged he had become angry towards his son Maddox during a flight recently.

However, the site claims they have begun negotiations again since, and are now mid-way through settling.

Elements they need to address reportedly include custody and visitation, and temporary support for Angelina and the kids, both of which the site claims are almost resolved.

They are allegedly still to settle on an agreement for permanent financial support and splitting their property.

Meanwhile, Brad's ex Jennifer Aniston has been caught up in the split drama, and her Friends co-star Courteney Cox leapt to the defence recently.

Jennifer, who is now married to Leftovers actor Justin Theroux, found herself splashed across the front page of the New York Post to announce the death of Brangelina.

But speaking recently, while attending a party at Chateau Marmont, Courteney dismissed the notion that it had anything to do with her pal Jen.

“It's not about [Jennifer]. I feel like we're exacerbating it by even talking about it,” Courteney told Entertainment Tonight.

But while Jennifer might be keeping tight-lipped about her ex Brad Pitt's shock split from Angelina , her husband Justin Theroux has had his say.

The Friends legend's other half was quizzed about Brangelina while promoting his new film, The Girl On The Train, and to the reporter's surprise he gave a very honest answer, according to the Business Insider.

"As a child of divorce, all I can say is that's terrible news for those children, and that's all you can really say," the 45-year-old star said.

"It's boring to sort of comment on anything else. People are having a bad time. That's horrible."
