JUST IN: A teacher of St. Kevin Secondary School Lodwar nurses serious injuries after being beaten by a student

A teacher at St. Kevin Secondary School Lodwar was yesterday beaten by a student. It is reported that the student was fighting another student only to be called by the deputy principal who later wrote him a suspension. The said student teared the suspension letter twice and threw the shattered pieces of papers on the deputy principal's face.

As things got out of hand, Mr Simiyu who Is the class teacher intervened the situation by trying to ask the unruly student (Abraham Wasike) why he is behaving like this even to the deputy principal. Tactically, the student took a thermos and smashed it on teacher's face creating serious wounds.

It is reported that the History teacher is now nursing serious wounds on the face at Lodwar Refferal hospital. Angry teachers stormed out of the school and went to report the matter to Lodwar police station.

The school was chaotic on the better part of yesterday afternoon that prompted the principal of the school to temporarily close the school to avert any further danger and possible damage to school property.

Reports reaching us say that it is not the first time teachers are beaten in this school. Sometime early this year another teacher received a blow from a student when he was trying to administer punishment.
